Storm, Hail & Roof

Storm · Hail · Wind · Tornado

They called it wear and tear. We call it what it is.

Oklahoma gets hammered every spring. Insurers know it, price for it, and then fight the claims anyway. If your roof, siding, windows or home were wrecked by a storm and the check doesn’t cover the damage, the fight isn’t over.

Red flags

Signs they’re playing games.

  • The adjuster blamed age, wear and tear or “improper installation” instead of the storm
  • They approved a repair when the roof needs replacement
  • The estimate ignores code upgrades, matching or interior water damage
  • They sent their own engineer and stopped returning calls
  • Months have passed and the claim is still “under review”

What we do

How we fight it.

  1. 01

Take apart the adjuster’s estimate line by line against what it really costs to fix

  2. 02

Line up independent inspections, photos, weather data and contractor bids

  3. 03

Put the insurer on written notice of what the policy owes and why

  4. 04

Push for appraisal, negotiation or a lawsuit, whichever gets you paid

Questions

Storm, Hail & Roof, answered.

My insurer says the damage is old. Is that the end of it?

No. “Pre-existing damage” and “wear and tear” are among the most common reasons given for storm denials. The question is what the evidence shows, and insurers don’t get the last word on that.

Should I sign the check they sent?

Talk to a lawyer before you sign anything that says “final,” “full” or “release.” Cashing a check is not always a waiver, but some documents are.

Do I need to fix the roof first?

Protect the property from more damage and keep every receipt. Don’t tear off the evidence before it’s documented.
